MONTREAL – A young man is dead of gunshot wounds and three suspects are in police custody after a fight at a fast-food restaurant on Ste. Catherine St. E. early Saturday morning.

Montreal police say they were called at about 4:30 a.m. after witnesses reported a shot or shots being fired in the restaurant on the corner of St. Christophe and Ste. Catherine streets.

A man between age 25 and 30 was wounded in his upper body. The victim and the suspects fled the scene, but the victim collapsed at the corner of Ste. Catherine and St. Hubert streets. He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The suspects, two men age 24 and 19, and a 19-year-old woman are to be interrogated by homicide investigators later Saturday.

This is Montreal’s 26th homicide of the year.
