NATIONAL CITY – The man shot and killed outside a fast food restaurant Sunday night has been identified as Angel Vicente Torres of San Diego, the county Medical Examiner’s office said Monday.

Torres, 30, was in the parking lot of the McDonald’s on Highland Avenue near Sweetwater Road just after 8 p.m. when he was shot several times in the chest, National City police said.

A woman companion told police that Torres had talked with some people inside the restaurant and had another conversation with someone outside before he was shot, police said.

Witnesses said they saw two men with shaved heads in a silver Toyota RAV4 followed by a second car described as a light-colored sedan. They were last seen driving west through the parking lot. No detailed description of the men was given.

Torres was taken to a hospital where he died. National City police said he was a documented gang member on parole.
