Authorities today are investigating a murder-suicide at a McDonald's restaurant in Carson on Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

A man and a woman were found dead at the scene about 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the 17400 block of Central Avenue, near the 91 Freeway, Deputy Oscar Butao said.

Witnesses reported seeing the two arguing in a vehicle just before the woman got out and ran toward the restaurant yelling "He's going to kill me," KNBC-TV Channel 4 reported. The man then allegedly followed her into the fast-food restaurant, shot her, then turned the gun on himself, witnesses told the television station.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately known, Butao said. No names have been released and the relationship between the two was not disclosed.
